Johanna Sjunnesson is a Swedish cellist and music creator.
Between acoustic and electronic sounds, she creates music in a neo-classical style. Based on her roots in classical music, with fragments or melodies from the past.
"Earth" is a song based on the famous aria "Dido´s Lament” - "When I am laid in earth", by Henry Purcell.
"Arctic Ice" is inspired by recorded sounds from sparkling, crackling ice from an Arctic expedition, originally written by Johanna Sjunnesson as a commission for a radio documentary about climate changes. She also uses fragments from the Four Seasons by Vivaldi.
